The Associate of Science in Medical Assisting online degree program builds upon the core courses of the online Diploma program by incorporating the general education requirements required for this level of degree. This program is also accredited through ABHES. The Associate is 65 credits and can be completed in 16–24 months. Students will gain real world experience through an externship. Careers for graduates of the online Associate Degree program are similar to the Diploma, however Associate Degree graduates will have greater bargaining potential when seeking employment and promotional opportunities within the health care field.Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for both the Certified Medical Assistant exam offered through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) and the Registered Medical Assistant exam given by the American Medical Technologists association (AMT).

This diploma requires 48 semester credit hours for graduation and takes between 12 and 20 months to complete. Students will gain real world experience through an externship.
