    Biomedical Engineering Technology - Bachelor of Science
    DeVry's BMET program is accredited by ABET**, the official accreditation body for biomedical engineering programs in the United States. By providing a firm foundation in biological sciences as well as core competencies required of electronics engineering technologists, DeVry's Biomedical Engineering Technology program (Biomedical Technology program in New York) prepares graduates to enter the work force as technical professionals with competencies in bioengineering processes and tools. BMET graduates play essential roles on the biomedical team, typically designing and implementing hardware and software solutions to biological or medical problems. The curriculum is applications-oriented in the areas of physiological bioinstrumentation and informatics, and provides graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to function effectively in multidisciplinary teams, adapt to changes in technical environments throughout their careers and progress in their professional responsibilities.

    Biomedical Engineering Technology program objectives:

    Program outcomes for the Biomedical Engineering Technology program include:

    • Analyzing applications of electronic and computer systems to the life sciences using appropriate test equipment, and applying results of the analysis to improve designs or methodologies in a manner consistent with the related regulatory environment.

    This degree in Computer Information Systems with a track in Health Information Systems prepares graduates to develop specialized healthcare applications that both improve patient care and make healthcare more efficient. By mastering current technologies and best practices, including picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability ACT (HIPPA) and Health Level Seven (HL7), graduates will be prepared to integrate equipment output with HER and other applications, as well as to develop and support electronic health records applications in hospitals and medical offices nationwide.

    Technical Management / Health Information Management - Bachelor of Science
    This CAHIIM accredited online degree program in Technical Management with a technical specialty in Health Information Management (HIM) provides the experience and knowledge students need to progress in their profession and take the RHIA certification exam.
