To obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree, the student must be committed to an additional four years on top of the four year Bachelor Degree and two year Masters Degree for a total of 10 years. Due to the very specialized nature of the Doctorate Degree, individual universities need to be contacted for specifics of their admissions policies, the requirements for completion of the selected coursework, the time fame for completion of the research and dissertation portions of the degree.

Many successful Doctorate Degree holders go into teaching or advanced research positions rather than actual “real world” situations. However the knowledge obtained during the process can make them extremely valuable to an organization. These graduates also command the highest salary of any IT degree.
